CT Imaging was originally founded in 1997 as VAMP Verfahren und Apparate der Medizinischen Physik GmbH by Prof. Dr. Dr. Willi A. Kalender as a spin-off from the Institute of Medical Physics (IMP) as of the University Erlangen-Nuremberg. Following the spin-off of CAS innovations AG (focusing on computer-assisted surgery systems), VAMP has specialized in microcomputed tomography and successfully established its TomoScope^® device series in the market. In consideration of the international business focus, the company decided to change its name to CT Imaging GmbH in 2009, better reflecting the future direction and its establishment as CT technology solutions provider.

Complex development challenges demand new approaches and solutions

With many years of experience in the field of computed tomography (owing also to the close cooperation with IMP), CT Imaging equally promotes creativity, relies on innovation and is, thus, very well prepared for new challenges and ready to explore new ways. The close cooperation with universities, colleges and institutes, both domestically and abroad, allows us to participate in the transfer of ideas and results.
A great exemplar to illustrate the incorporation of innovation and state-of-the-art technologies is the TomoScope^® Synergy Twin, the world's first dual source micro-CT scanner. The two tube/detector systems, which are integrated in the scanner, allow for faster scans and offer the possibility to use the information of different X-ray energies for material selective imaging.
