We will expand our business activity in the long term and therefore found it appropriate to change our name to CT Imaging which better reflects the area we are working in. However, the new website will take a while to set up - until then the current vamp-gmbh.de website gives you all the relevant information. Also, the old eMail-Adresses and phone numbers will continue working.

(Erlangen, Germany) one of the pioneers of micro computed tomography development. Dexas will distribute V.A.M.P.'s TomoScope®, one the world's most advanced micro-CT, in the North American market.

VAMP, a spin-off of the Institute of Medical Physics (IMP) at the University of Erlangen, was founded in 1997 by Prof. Dr. Willi A. Kalender. VAMP started designing dedicated micro-CT scanners in cooperation with the IMP in 1998. VAMP has successfully established itself as a niche provider for specialized solutions in computed tomography (CT) image reconstruction and processing. VAMP holds decisive patents and relies on the continued partnership with the IMP, known as a continuous source of innovations in the area of CT technology worldwide. VAMP has been successful as a small service enterprise and has expanded its range of activities towards micro-CT applications. Cooperation between raytest Isotopenmessgeräte GmbH and VAMP GmbH

Cooperation agreement signed

VAMP and raytest GmbH, Straubenhardt have agreed on a close collaboration to build a small animal PET-CT system.

raytest GmbH is a well-known supplier of radiological equipment and an expert in bio imaging. The ClearPET is a high performance small animal PET scanner that has been developed within the Crystal Clear Collaboration (CCC) and is now commercially available to customers worldwide through the raytest group. In order to enhance the possibilities of the ClearPET, the VAMP TomoScope® will be used to access morphological information which can be combined with the PET data to form a complete solution for functional small animal imaging.

TomoScope 30s Duo

Fast and versatile Dual-Source Micro-CT - TomoScope® 30s Duo.

The VAMP dual source micro-CT scanner TomoScope® 30s Duo is a dedicated in-vivo scanner with two independently operating X-ray-source and detector channels. It achieves excellent low contrast resolution at minimum dose with high spatial resolution and very short scan times. The TomoScope® 30s Duo is a stand-alone micro-CT scanner just as its single-source version TomoScope® 30s. The system is fully-radiation shielded and can be operated in any laboratory environment. Its field of measurement is 4 cm in diameter and 4 cm in length and it can be automatically extended to a maximum length of 12 cm by concatenating adjacent circular scans. Spiral scans will be supported in a future software version. The scan times range from 1 second to 1.5 minutes. Further versions with enlarged scan diameter and enhanced features are in preparation.

New high-speed detector

TomoScope 30s installed at Schering AG

The new high-speed detector that enables the TomoScope 30s scanner to perform high quality 360° scans in 90 s and high speed 360° scans in 19 s was successfully installed at the small animal imaging lab of Schering AG in May 2006. Installed next to ultrasound and bioluminescence scanners the TomoScope 30s complements Scherings's multi modality imaging research capabilities in a powerful way.

Significant increase of temporal resolution.

Improvements in detector and tube technology allow us a further reduction of scan time. Without impairing image quality or dose our single-source scanner TomoScope 30s is now able to perform a high speed 360° scan in as little as 10 s whereas the high quality 360° scan finishes in 90 s. These tremendous improvements add to the dynamic scan capabilities of the world's fastest in-vivo micro-CT scanner.
